Purpose of Friends
Provide financial resources and personal support for opera programs, opera students and "Rising Stars".
Provide visibility for the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre (UTOT).
Provide social opportunities for members to share information and experiences.
The Structure of Friends is governed by a Board of Directors that is responsible for the oversight and management of the nonprofit organization.
Members are persons or entities that support the nonprofit organization financially or through service.
Funds are secured through donations and/or sponsorship from fundraising events.
Friends of Opera of East Tennessee is a 501(c)(3), chartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2020 by supporters of the future of Opera
Supporting Opera's Future
Over the past two years "Friends of Opera of East Tennessee" and its board has awarded more than $9,000 in grants to both the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre and Young Artist Grants.
